Nutritional Resources
ForMyDiet.com
The mission of the founders of ForMyDiet.com, Ami and Laura Assayag is to create web and PDA (personal digital
assistant) diet management technology to answer the needs of people with chronic disorders requiring dietary
restrictions, like MSUD. As a first step toward that goal, the ForMyDiet.com web site was launched to
provide help with diet management. The complete online and PDA diet management services are not developed
yet, but www.ForMyDiet.com currently includes other useful tools and information:
- Food lists and calculators with protein and leucine information
- Community message boards to share experiences with others
- Scales, breadmakers and other small appliances
- Information about specific disorders
- Low protein recipes
- A unique weekly cartoon
ForMyDiet.com will soon add a database where nutritional information on low protein foods from vendors is
listed for easy searching and quick nutrient calculations. The list of foods is extensive and is useful
with the leucine amounts listed. Keep checking this web site for additional information and items:
www.ForMyDiet.com
NutritionData
NutritionData generates nutrition facts labels and provides simplified nutritional analyses for all foods and
recipes. Has excellent search feature. It is a great resource for information on low-protein food values and
lists 999 foods low in leucine. Check this web site: www.Nutritiondata.com.

MSUD Food List Booklet
Dr. Rani Singh (a nutritionist at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia) and colleagues compiled a handy,
pocket-sized booklet designed especially for persons with MSUD. It lists a large number of foods with the
measurement, weight, calories, protein, leucine, and number of exchanges for each food. The information in this
compact 40-page 4" x 6" booklet also includes: how to figure exchanges and understand food labels, how to
determine leucine values when protein only is listed, lists of free foods and foods to avoid, a
sample menu and more. The cost for this MSUD Food List booklet is $10. This is a great, quick reference of a wide
variety of foods. Click here for order form (PDF).

NEW: Labels for PKU Cookbook
Irene Brakus, the grandmother of a child with MSUD, did an excellent job of making labels containing valuable
information for the second and third editions of Low Protein Cookery for PKU. Each label lists the page number,
the name of the recipe, the exact amount of leucine, isoleucine, valine and protein, and the number of calories in
a serving size. The label also lists a CF which stands for conversion factor. Multiply the amount in a serving by
the CF number to find the amount in the whole recipe. This is especially handy when making larger or smaller
servings. These labels are made to attach to each recipe in the cookbook and provide all you need to make the
cookbook as useful for MSUD as for PKU. Order these from Ms. Brakus at no charge.
